2 Angry Buds – March 2017 Edition

Mel & Vic are back again,  mourning the looming demise of so many government programs and agencies that once allowed us all to enjoy a certain level of decency and taste of the good life.   Also alarming is the rise of nativism and isolationism currently taking place around the globe.  Dare we take comfort in the fact that we are not alone on that dangerous path?   And finally, they urge one and all to “Resist!  Resist!” as the swamp in Washington DC becomes deeper and oh, so much muckier . . .  Got your rubbers handy?!

2 Angry Buds – January 2017 Edition

The Angry Buds have returned!  The election and inauguration had left them too stunned to speak.  But then, the new POTUS started signing orders, nominating incompetents to important posts, and tweeting early morning absurdities (commonly known as “alternative facts”).   That was sufficient impetus to get Mel & Vic off their porch swings and back on the warpath.  So, sit back and have a listen as your hosts offer their polemic on the new Drumpf era!

Off The Beaten Path: Runners’ Radio, Episode 7

In this edition of Runner’s Radio, your host, Tavi Wallace, interviews Danny Chester, a UPS employee for over 26 years, who talks about how he is able to get enough sleep not only to function, but to wake up at 3:30 a.m. each morning and run before work.  Highlights of the interview include Chester’s big reveal that pickle juice is his marathon drink of choice, advice on racing in high tops, and how he manages his ultimate weakness — cheesecake!

Off the Beaten Path: Runners’ Radio, Episode 5

In this extended episode, our host, Tavi Wallace, interviews April Woo, a seasoned Louisvillian runner.

In Part 1 of the interview, April discusses training like a champion, eating smart and what can happen when you run at 5 a.m.

In Part 2, she discusses a family-friendly rivalry, an emotional Boston Marathon experience, and “cutting Footloose.”

Off the Beaten Path: Runners’ Radio, Episode 4

In this program, Tavi interviews James Howard, a recent graduate of the University of Louisville.  He works at UPS and never thought he would become a distance runner. Now, he is planning to run an ultra-marathon in the near future. Generally, he lets his running do the talking.  In this interview, he takes a seat and instead does some talking about running.
